SNOW & ICE DETECTORS
• The Master Control Unit (APS-3C) is the main
control unit for Fostoria’s automatic snow & ice control system.
• The control unit sends a signal back to the
primary control panel which activates the infrared heating
system, thus melting snow & ice accumulations until conditions
subside
• NEMA 3R Enclosure is UL/C-UL Listed & houses
timers including switching electronics to operate the system
• Capable of monitoring up to 6 sensors (CIT-1)
• APS-3C unit can be manually activated & controlled, plus
monitored from the remote switch as shown above (RCU-3) which is
included. |

Snow Sensor
• The Snow Sensor
(CIT-1) detects falling or blowing precipitation as snow when
temperature is below 38° F. This signal is then sent to the
Master Control Unit
• Positioned above
ground to maximize the sensors capability |

Pre-Wired Contactor Panels
IMPORTANT FUSING INFORMATION
Fuses are NOT included since panels can be used with
various infrared heat sources. Quartz Lamp Heat Sources:
Use FRS-600V (or equal) “Time Delay” fuses; Class RK- 5.
Quartz Tube & metal Sheath Heat Sources: Use KTS-R 600V
(or equal) “Fast
Acting” fuses; Class RK-1. Fuse circuits as close to
calculated load as possible. Circuits less than 35-amps
will require the use of fuse reducers. |
• Factory pre-wired for quick installation and for
use with the following control equipment:
Single & Two-Stage Thermostats (requires
2-contactors)
Snow & Ice Detector (APS-3C)
• NEMA 1 Enclosures included
• Contact factory for 3R, 4, 4X, & NEMA 12 enclosure

• Max 50-Amp branch circuit fusing
